Scholastic Book Fairs "One For Books" Program update:

Last year, in my schoolwide "Spare Change Challenge", generous students and families
filled the box by contributing $300!
This year, the generosity has overflowed from the box AND a mason jar...
and there is still one day left in the challenge!
I will update with a dollar amount soon. Keep checking back!

Updated: July 2011
With over 4,500 books and over 2,400 Accelerated Reader quizzes in our library this year, we are ready to roll! I am happy to report that our library grew by some 80+ books last year and by 359 AR quizzes!
The avid readers in our school are keeping me on my toes. I am always on the look out for new titles and quizzes to add to our library as funds allow.
The Birthday Book Club was a great success last year and we are happy to continue it this year.
What is it? It is...
- a celebration of someone's birthday
- a long lasting part of our school library
- a $20 donation to our library that in turn grows our library's resources
Birthday Book Club honorees are presented their chosen book (selected from the BBC books in the library) at the last chapel of their birthday month already checked out to him/her. He/she gets to be the first person to check out the book. Upon the end of their week with the book, it is returned (i.e. donated) and becomes a part of our library for other patrons to enjoy and benefit from for years to come.
