Kim has been a part of the YCA family since 2008, first as a parent and volunteer. She later joined the YCA staff as the computer/library teacher in 2010.
Prior to becoming a mother, Kim taught at a local charter school for four years. In that multi-age setting, she taught students in grades 4, 5 and 6. After meeting and marrying her husband, Nathan, they spent a year in Kingwood, Texas, where she taught 2nd grade.
Partnering with a local church and Global Ventures, Inc., Kim has been a part of two trips to a small community in North Vietnam. She truly enjoyed working with the teachers and students of that community and the experiences have left lasting impressions on her.
During the warmer months you will find Kim and her family on the lake just about every chance they get! Locally, they enjoy time on Lake Corpus Christi or Choke Canyon Lake, but for the occasional “long weekend” they really enjoy travelling to Lake LBJ in Kingsland, Texas.
