Karen Chang has been a member of the Yorktown Christian Academy teaching staff since 2005. She has been in the teaching profession for twenty-seven years. She has lived in Corpus Christi for over seventeen years and has been blessed to have two children.
Karen began her teaching career in 1987 by implementing the Spanish program in a private high school in Virginia. She taught Spanish there to students in grades 8-12 until she was married in 1991. She then taught elementary Spanish in Houston for several years. Karen then had the opportunity to live in Venezuela for one year where she taught English to adults. While in Venezuela, Karen seized the opportunity to immerse herself in speaking Spanish and soaking up the culture of Venezuela and its people.
While at Yorktown Christian Academy Karen has taught preschool, first grade, third grade, middle school Spanish and is currently teaching fourth grade. Christian education is very important and dear to Karen, and she embraces each teaching opportunity with excitement and a true love for her students.
